Whole Wheat Chapati

Picture
Chapati making invites you to accept yourself as you are in the moment. It can be no other way with this or any recipe.  Recipes for food and life are suggestions. They must be felt out. They must be played with over and over again until they become your own.

You may measure perfectly, and the consistency may be too stiff. The texture of the flour may vary from the one I used. The ghee may be a different solidity than on the day of the ones in the photo. This, of course, is in addition to anything and everything going on inside and outside of you!

The basics sometimes are the most challenging to master.  They ask us to practice being present and trusting ourselves. They are worth because you are worth it!
Ingredients (1 Serving)
1/2 Cup whole wheat flour (40 grams)
1/2 Tablespoon ghee
20 Mililiters of water
Pinch of Himalayan sea salt

Additional spices optional

Instructions
  1. In a bowl, mix flour with salt followed by ghee then water. Dough should be very pliable while holding its form when shaped into a ball.
  2. Roll ball out on a floured surface until desired thickness/size.
  3. Add ghee to pan and cook on medium heat for a couple of minutes on each side.
  4. Feel free to stuff the chapati with homemade paneer cheese :)
